Model IPC Policies Resource Library

This online "Model IPC Policies Resource Library" contains a comprehensive collection of the infection prevention and control policies developed as part of this project. These policies are available in user-friendly Microsoft Word document templates, designed to empower center staff.

Customization for Each Center

Understanding that every center is unique, the policies are provided as customizable templates. Center staff can easily download these templates and tailor them to suit a center’s specific needs and practices. No need for a "one size fits all" approach here – the templates allow the policies to be seamlessly adaptable.

Embracing Best Practices

These templates are designed to inform centers of the latest best practices and recommendations. All policies available in this Resource Library have been reviewed by VDSS prior to their release.
Having these templates at hand provides confidence in implementing the most effective strategies for the health and safety of participants, staff, and the larger community.

How to Use

Please explore and download the model IPC template policies below. The templates contain yellow highlighted areas that should be customized with center-specific details or additional considerations. These areas should be addressed, edited, or deleted as applicable for each center before final implementation because each center deserves policies that fit like a glove.

These templates should be reviewed carefully and modified where needed to account for the specifics of the physical plant, center operations, and staff and participant needs. Providers are responsible for ensuring that modifications to templates are consistent with CDC guidelines and VDSS regulations, and any applicable local, state, or federal code.
