Leaders of Color & Allies

The LeadingAge Virginia Leaders of Color & Allies Network is a professional networking group for senior, mid-level, emerging leaders and front-line workers of color and allies employed by LeadingAge Virginia member organizations.

The network is designed to enhance recruitment, retention and professional growth of people of color in the field of aging services. It is committed to creating a community of connection, mentoring and support, where members exchange resources and ideas, and serve as a sounding board for one another.

Who is a Leader of Color?

A Leader of Color is someone who does not identify as white (race-characteristics, ethnicity/culture, region, heritage etc.)

 

Who is an Ally?

An Ally is a person who is not part of a marginalized group but expresses support to a group who is. Allyship is about using as much influence/power as you have to advocate for people in underrepresented groups.
