Melissa has been working with LeadingAge member boards for more than 15 years and believes that investing in board development can be a game changer for not-for profit organizations. Before joining LeadingAge Virginia, she served as the Vice President, Board Development & Member Relations at LeadingAge (national). In Melissa’s current role as President & CEO of LeadingAge Virginia, Melissa helps boards and leadership teams envision their future and develop strategies to execute on that vision, guides organizations to reimagine board engagement, supports mission, vision and values renovation and facilitates strategic planning processes. Melissa observes boards from 3 perspectives because she consults with boards, serves on a board committee, and reports directly to a board.
