COVID-19 has affected all organizations but especially those in senior living. Leaders must deal with the impact of the crisis today while making decisions for the future. With the uncertainty of how COVID-19 will actually impact organizations in the short- and long-term, how can leaders make the best of their decisions. These webinars will address leadership during this stressful time while providing the tools they will need to continue to provide outstanding leadership.

Making Decisions in Uncertain Times

This session discusses how leaders must make decisions even in the face of uncertainty, for both the shorter and longer term horizons, while boards, residents and staff expect for leadership to consider what the future looks like as they move organizations ahead.  Included will be discussions on some of the perils of making decisions in times of uncertainty, and the risks of NOT continuing to move the organization ahead.  Additionally, some tools will be outlined that can be used to help make better decisions that can adapt to change.

Using Emotional Intelligence to Lead in a Crisis 

During a crisis, people behave differently. Many are tense and stressed out, and it shows in their interactions with those around them.  Some are fearful of both what is happening today and what tomorrow will look like, while others are grieving actual or perceived losses.  So what is a leader to do in these situations? Leaders are expected to understand the emotions being felt and displayed, and to take these emotions into consideration as they plan for the future. This session will talk about how Emotional Intelligence can help leaders in this situation – exploring what Emotional Intelligence is and how it an be leveraged when leading during a crisis. Exploring how one can work to develop one's Emotional Intelligence as a leader also will be addressed.
