CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellations received in writing at a minimum of seven days before the start of the event will receive a credit, less a $75 administrative fee, toward a future LeadingAge Virginia event, excluding the Annual Conferences or Leadership Retreats. Cancellations received within seven days of the event will be considered a no-show and no credit will be issued. Substitutions are encouraged. Any credits will expire one year after the date of the event.

LeadSpark LLC is a consulting firm delivering employee development for individuals and groups tailored to a community, the environment and employees. Their goal is to understand what a community's business objectives and goals are. They combine training, on-the-job experiences, and coaching to accelerate the achievement of business goals, while providing personal development opportunities to employees.

  • Susan Rucker has served as a CFO, COO and audit and consulting partner for a Big 4 accounting firm.  She is currently the managing partner of LeadSpark and CFO of the William & Mary Business School Foundation.  Susan has been working with LeadingAge for the past three years as the lead instructor of the LAVA Mid-Manager Professional Development Series.  She is also a trustee for LifeSpire of Virginia.
  • Paula Otto is a former reporter, public relations professional and CEO.  In addition to her work with LeadSpark, Otto teaches government and public relations courses at Virginia Commonwealth University.  She recently partnered with Leading Age and Susan Rucker to deliver a webinar on Crisis Communications and was the lead instructor for a day-long workshop on Communications as part of the 2019 Leadership Acceleration series.
