SEARCHING FOR A POSITION

How can I find out what positions are available on the website?
From the Home page, click on Career Center from the right-hand column or click here. Choose "Search Openings". Enter your search parameters or scroll down and select "Search" to view all openings.

Can I get emails that will let me know when new postings are listed?
Yes, from either the Career Center or the Networking & Careers section at the bottom of your Manage Profile screen, click on "Subscribe" to receive email alerts when new openings are posted. Be sure to scroll down and select the "Save My Preferences" bottom at the bottom of the list.


POSTING A POSITION

As a LeadingAge Virginia member can I post a position in the Career Center?
Yes, LeadingAge Virginia members can post unlimited postings at no charge. Non-members can also post for $125 per posting.

How do I post a position in theLeadingAge VirginiaCareer Center?
From the Home page, click on Career Center from the right-hand column or click here. Select "Submit an Opening and complete the application form as completely as possible.  Fields with asterisks are required fields.

For the question "Link to your profile?" click "Yes" if you are a member.  This will allow you to manage your posting(s).

You have the option to accept online applications through the Career Center by selecting Yes or the "Allow online application?" question.

How do I know if the position has been posted?
If you've selected and saved your email notification preferences using the "Subscribe" feature (see above), you'll receive an automatic email notification that the position has been posted with approval in that category.

Am I able to manage the postings, i.e., change something in a post?
Yes. Log in and go to your your Manage Profile page. Click "Career Postings" at the bottom of the page. From the My Career Postings page you can see all of the positions you've posted, as well as the number of applicants, the number of views, the date posted, and the expiration date.

To make changes to a posting, click on the middle icon to the left of the posting you need to change and make adjustments as appropriate. To make the posting temporarily inactive, click on the green circle icon. To delete the posting, select the trash can icon. 

Is there a cost associated with posting a job position?
LeadingAge Virginia members can post unlimited job positions at no charge. The charge for non-members is $125 per posting.

I'm not a member. How do I post a job opening?
Call LeadingAge Virginia at (804) 965-5500 with your credit card information so we can process your payment and send you a receipt.  Next, send a detailed position description, including instructions on how to apply, by email to LeadingAge Virginia at contactus@leadingagevirginia.org and we'll post the position for you for 30 days.

As a non-member, how do I pay to post a job opening?
Submit a job opening just as a member would (see above). When you get to the end of the submission form you'll see the payment button. You can pay with a credit card or a debit card to complete the posting process. Payment must be received prior to the posting appearing in the Career Center.  Once payment has been received, you will automatically receiving a receipt.

How long can I post an individual job position?
Positions can be posted for 30 days from the date of posting. The person posting the position will receive a reminder by email on the day the posting expires. LeadingAge Virginia member postings can be extended for an additional 30 days if needed. Non-members wishing to extend postings will be required to pay the $125 fee for an additional 30 days.

How do I delete a position once the position is filled?
Log in and go to your your Manage Profile page. Click "Career Postings" at the bottom of the page. From the My Career Postings page you can see all of the positions you've posted. To delete a posting, select the trashcan icon next to the posting.

How will I know if I have any applicants for the job posting?
When you post a job, you are required to enter your email so that when an application to the job is made, it will come directly to you by email.
